Coast, sea Highlands & Islands –
Unicorn Tours throughout Scotland

England

Private & personalised small group tours

departing/starting from Scotland

There are innumerable connections across the British Isles that bind us together dating back all the way to prehistory & the Celts. There are the Roman Hadrian’s & Antonine Walls. The ancient connections between what is now Scotland and England are found all over the landscapes in their placenames to this very day.
Northumberland & Cumbria in the North of England in particular stand out with their close proximity to Scotland and their stunning & similar landscapes to Scotland, such as the Lake District (compared to the Scottish Highlands), the Northumberland nationalpark (compared to the Southern Uplands), the many glorious golden beaches of Northumberland (compared to the Scottish Coast & Islands) and the incredibly majestic & historic castles of Northumberland, such as Bamburgh, Alnwick, Warworth castle to name just a few (compared to the 100s of magnificient Scottish castles).
On our Scottish Borders – Berwickshire coast – Bamburgh, Lindisfarne & Northumberland coast – or – Hadrian’s Wall tours we often find ourselves crossing back and forth between the two sides, the Borders in Scotland and Northumberland in England.
From Dumfries and Gretna Green in Scotland it is just a short hop over into Cumbria to Carlisle, the Hadrian’s Wall and to the Lake District in England.
In the Northwest of England just 1 hour south of the Lake District there is the incredible city of Liverpool, not far from Chester with its beautiful architecture.
In the Northeast of England south of Northumberland and Tyneside, there is the UNESCO world heritage site of Durham castle & cathedral and beyond into Yorkshire with its many stunning sites and inland south of Hadrian’s Wall you find the wild and rugged Pennines to name just a few places.
Coast, sea Highlands & Islands – Unicorn Tours does not only offer 1 or 2 day tours from Scotland over the border into England, but offers English multi-day tours starting in Scotland and our availability is best throughout the low-season.
As we do especially love the coast, beaches, cliffs, coastal walks and wild spectacular sea- and landscapes, we hope at some future stage to be able to offer longer 7 days+ tours to Cornwall and Devon during the quieter winter months as well.
