On the Outlander trail around the Forth valley
with optional visits of:
- Culross (fictional Cranesmuir & witches trial and Culross palace has the herb garden)
- Falkland (fictional Inverness)
- Aberdour Castle (In Dragonfly in Amber, the Abbey is located on the north coast of France and Claire tends to Jamie prior to them leaving Scotland)
- We are crossing the River Forth for a photostop of the 3 bridges
- Hopetoun house (fictional home of the Duke of Sandringham)
- Mid-hope (fictional Lallybroch)
- Blackness castle (fictional Fort William)
- Doune castle (fictional Castle Leod, home of the MacKenzie clan)
On a short day tour, there won’t be time to go inside and visit all of these venues, however subject to the group’s preferences and if they wish to sacrifice a few of the above stops, it would be possible to also include Drummond castle gardens (which featured as Versailles).
You might also wish to consider upgrading this into a full one day tour and then have more time and be able to visit more Outlander filming locations.

The price of a short day tour depends on how short/long many hours and during which season you wish to run the tour for.,
for example it could be a 5 hours short day tour = 1/2 a day tour – so the cost is:
- Low season/half day tour = £120 for a group of max. 8 passengers
- Mid season/half day tour = £150 for a group of max. 8 passengers
- High season/half day tour = £180 for a group of max. 8 passengers
for example it could be a 7 hours short day tour = 2/3 a day tour – so the cost is:
- Low season – 2/3 a day tour = £160 for a group of max. 8 passengers
- Mid season – 2/3 a day tour = £2000 for a group of max. 8 passengers
- High season – 2/3 a day tour = £240 for a group of max. 8 passengers

Discount # 5 = just charging for the driving time:
Concerning same day VISITS (i.e. no scenic touring & multi-stopping involved), A to B journeys & day WALKS (from October to April)
Example only for a same day VISIT, A to B journey or day WALK:
- Pick you up from A (i.e. where you live or stay)
- Drive for 2.5 hours (in this example) from A to B
- At B you have free time or a VISIT (a town, castle, whisky distillery, museum, attraction, event or similar at your own expense) or go for a WALK
- After a few hours at the end of your VISIT Unicorn Tours picks you up again from B or meets you at the other end of your WALK ( & often I meet you half way into the walk, as I am parked at the far side of the trail, where your walking path ends. On a circular walk I might join you – please note there is no extras payable for those semi-guided same day walks.)
- From B we drive back for 2.5 hours (in this example) to A and drop you off there or anywhere else you choose/pre-arranged
We only charge for the driving time in this example = 2.5 hours from A to B + 2.5 hours from B back to A = 5 hours
5 hours in this example = half of the 10 hour standard daily rate
