Depending on the group’s preferences, the weather and timings, the final route back to Stirling on day 3 only needs to be decided after Loch Ness.

Please note, that due to offer the best possible weather and road conditions, we might swap the route of day 1 and day 3 around.

Also the reason, why we don’t take the ferry is due to its much reduced winter service, as on the outbound on Friday, we would only arrive at 4.30 pm into Armadale and would have to travel on Skye for 2 hours in the dark and on the way back on Sunday, the ferry only leaves Skye in the afternoon.

TOUR COST:

As it is the same cost to run a day tour with 1 or with 8 passengers on board, it is the same cost overall for the hire of the 8 passenger mini-bus with driver/guide per day, regardless of how many passengers are travelling on board.

Winter rates are much reduced, so you might still find it economical per person for you and your friends to go ahead with the tour, even if we don’t manage to fill the coach and you can’t find any more of your friends to join you. So even if you are only 7, 6 or 5 passengers in total, you will still find the price per person competitive and in the end it is your own private tour and you have more space on the mini-bus.

Alternatively if you give us enough notice, generally 4 days + on a tour involving overnight accommodation, you may decide, that as there are too few guests, you are cancelling the tour, as the per person rate is too high.

November to February weekend (Saturdays and Sundays) are £199 per day https://unicorntours.co.uk/nov-feb-low-season-adults-students-sat-sun/

November to February midweek days (Mondays to Fridays) are £149 per day for students https://unicorntours.co.uk/prices-students-november-february/

  • £69 per person based on a tour group of 8 guests for a 3 day Friday – Sunday student winter tour
  • £78 per person based on a tour group of 7 guests for a 3 day Friday – Sunday student winter tour
  • £92 per person based on a tour group of 6 guests for a 3 day Friday – Sunday student winter tour
  • £109 per person based on a tour group of 5 guests for a 3 day Friday – Sunday student winter tour
  • £138 per person based on a tour group of 4 guests for a 3 day Friday – Sunday student winter tour
  • £184 per person based on a tour group of 3 guests for a 3 day Friday – Sunday student winter tour
  • £276 per person based on a tour group of 2 guests for a 3 day Friday – Sunday student winter tour
  • £547 per person based on a tour group of 1 guest for a 3 day Friday – Sunday student winter tour

= £547 for a 3 day winter weekend tour (hire of 8 passenger mini-bus with driver / tour guide)

( = Friday discounted winter student daily winter student only mid-week rate £149

+ Saturday discounted winter weekend daily rate £199

+ Sunday discounted winter weekend daily rate £199)

Either

you are a group of friends, i.e. a group of 3, 4, 5,6 or 7 people booking a tour altogether and YOU KNOW FROM THE OUTSET THAT THIS IS A DEFINITE GO AHEAD – in which case you would pay £69 per person – and we would advertise the remaining seats left. In the event of there being less than 8 passengers on the tour, you then just pay the difference on the day

  • if the final group size is 7 and you have paid £69 pp, you would pay the difference of £9 per person (= £78 pp if 7)
  • if the final group size is 6 and you have paid £69 pp, you would pay the difference of £23 per person (=£92 pp if 6)
  • if the final group size is 5 and you have paid £69 pp, you would pay the difference of £40 per person (=£109 pp if 5))
  • if the final group size is 4 and you have paid £69 pp, you would pay the difference of £69 per person (=£138 pp if 4)
  • if the final group size is 3 and you have paid £69 pp, you would pay the difference of £115 per person (= £184 pp if 3)
  • etc.

OR

you wish to join the tour as an INDIVIDUAL, a COUPLE or a GROUP of 3 or 4 FRIENDS, WHO WOULD ONLY LIKE TO JOIN THE TOUR, IF THE TOUR IS FULL (group size 8) or near full (group size 7 or 6)  – in which case you can register your interest by being put on the WAITING LIST and don’t pay until more people have come forward, who wish to book and pay for the tour later.

I will keep you up-to-date, i.e. send out an email, we are currently 5, 6 or 7 on the waiting list, would you like to book and pay the £69 per person now and any difference (in case there are less than 8 passengers) on the day of travel.

Once we have a group size of 8, 7, 6 or 5 passengers you can then decide, if you wish to proceed and book yourself onto the tour (the usual deadline is about 7 days before the tour date) and pay or alternatively cancel and being removed from the waiting list.

**********************************************************************************************************************************************

P.S.:

  • Extension option (only if everyone in the entire whole group of up to 8 passengers decided for it well in advance prior to the departure day):
  • If the entire group, i.e. everyone, wanted to start the tour on Thursday, 10th January or extend until Monday, 14th January and would advise us early enough in advance an additional hostel night could be booked either on Skye or the NW Highlands and more time could be spent either on the Isle of Skye or in the spectacular Northwest Highlands.
  • During the winter an additional mid-week day from Mondays to Fridays for a student group works out just £149 per day, which based on a group of 8, is £18 per person for a full extra day or £9 per person for 1/2 an extra day.
