Day 1

  •   Step back in time on a gentler pace and discover a nature & wildlife haven, endless wild beaches  nature, wildlife, summer flower & fertile beach machair galore & at their best when the long days of spring turn into early summer, we visit Skye & the wild Atlantic coast on Europe’s edge – the Outer Hebrides (all connected by causeways, Eriskay, S. Uist, Benbecula, N. Uist & Bernerary) with stunning views over to St. Kilda & the Monarch isles, etc. = £125 per person, incl. ferries & £25 pp per night (x2) in our great Isle of Benbecula hostel + £24 in the heart of Portree, the capital of Skye
  • At the end of May nature, the flowers, the wildlife is at its best with spring turning into summer and 19 hours of daylight

We are travelling the scenic route via the Trossachs, Lochearn, Killin/Falls of Dochart towards Glencoe and Fort William with the options of various scenic walks before heading along the road to the Isles and via Glenfinnan/Harry Potter railway bridge to the stunning golden beaches of Morar and Arisaig before heading to Malliag, where we will take a spectacular ferry route south of the Cuillins of Skye and north of the small isles, Rum, Eigg, Canna and Muck heading to the Outer Hebrides to South Uist, from where we drive to Benbecula our home base for 2 nights

Day 2

This is the ultimate day for beach lovers, the sea and the wild ocean and for anyone who likes coastal walks as we will be exploring the 5 islands of the Outer Hebrides (all connected by causeways, Eriskay, S. Uist, Benbecula, N. Uist & Bernerary) with stunning views over to St. Kilda & the Monarch isles, etc., towns, villages all with rich Gaelic heritage, ancient monuments and nature at its best wish lush machair and lots of flowers, lambs, we will see lots of seabirds, some seals and if we are lucky some otters and dolphins, porpoises and whales as well – welcome to a nature lover’s paradise

Day 3

After spending the morning on North Uist and Bernerary, we will be taking the midday ferry from North Uist to Uig on Skye and explore the fairy glen, the wild and rugged Trotternish peninsula with the open air museum of Skye island life, Flora MacDonald’s burial site, Duntulm castle, the Dinosaur coast, Flodigarry, Staffin, Kilt rock water falls, Lealt falls, the old man of Storr before heading to beautiful Portree, the capital of Skye, where are based in the centre for 1 night

Day 4

Depending on the weather and the group’s preferences there are still lots of amazing places on Skye, such as Sligachan or Elgol with the best views over the Cuillins and stunning places such as Kyleakin, the stunning Skye bridge, Plockton  & Eilean Donan castle on the mainland or depending on time management, taking the off the beaten track, but extremely stunning journey via the Glenelg ferry, etc. heading through up through the stunning mountains of Kintail towards the Great Glen with many stops along the way towards Stirling.

* Accommodation at the Nunton house hostel on Benbecula for 2 nights and at the SYHA in Portree/Skye for 1 night,

however if you prefer, you are free to stay elsewhere for those 3 nights, incl. a B&B or hotel, so long as the first 2 nights are on the Isle of Benbecula (central location – the alternative hostel is the more basic, but cheaper Howmore hostel ton South Uist o explore the chain of the Outer Hebrides) and the last night in Portree on the Isle of Skye
