Isle of Arran 1 day tour from Glasgow

After your Glasgow hotel pick up we head through the Westend and the Clyde tunnel towards Ardrossan, where we still have time for a short beach visit, before our Caledonian MacBrayne ferry from Ardrossan/Ayrshire to Brodick/Isle of Arran.

As it is a sunny bright day we have spectacular crossing over to Arran with views of the Isles of Cumbrae, Bute, Aisla Craig & Holy Island in the distance.

Upon arrival at Brodick, we are one of the first to disembark and start our Isle of Arran round tour.

We begin on the Southeast coast with its Victorian style architecture, through Lamlash with great views of Holy Isle, past Whiting Bay we reach  the Southcoast at Kildonan beach where we go for walk with views of Aisla Craig, Pladda and its lighthouse and the cliffs further west along the Arran south coast.

We head to Lagg distillery for a break and through Arran’s “farming belt” along the Southwest coast. Views of the Kintyre peninsula becomes clearer and we have a photostop on top of the lush green cliff top meadows with all its many spring flowers and the blue colours of the sea sparkling in the sunshine.

Before Blackwaterfoot we have a photostop of the beach & mountain views, before having lunch at Blackwaterfoot beach.

We pass by a bagpiper and a wedding party, but along the Northeast coast, views of the seals elude us.

In picturesque Lochranza we stop at the castle for the best views of the bay, its harbour, colourful houses, the hills full of rhododendron in full bloom and the hills of North Arran.

After a brief stop at the Lochranza Arran distillery we start our climb through the North Arran mountains with views of Goatfell from the Northwest to the Northeast coast and go for a viewpoint walk with views towards Glen Sannox & Glen Rosa.

At Sannox bay we take the stepping stones to the beach before heading along the Northeast coast back towards Brodick, past the Arran brewery – after a final mountain viewpoint stop, we head to golden & buzzing Brodick beach with views of the castle, the mountains and Brodick bay.

The ferry is once more very busy, but it is a calm and spectacular ferry ride back with great views of Arran, Holy Island and the Ayrshire coast.

Upon arriving back in Ardrossan we take the scenic North Ayrshire coastal route via Largs harbour to a superb viewpoint above Largs with coastal views across to Arran, Holy Island, Bute, Great & Little Cumbrae and the Cowal peninsula in the distance.

We head inland towards Glasgow, before we say good-bye and drop you off at the Botanic Gardens for your dinner at Oran Mor.

Your guaranteed per person “tours for individuals” price explained

irrespective of the actual final number of passengers joining us for the tour

  • Peak May – September season  private & small group tour price is £300 –  1 day tour price
  • £300 our daily tour rate per day per vehicle/driver/guide
  • / divided by 8 our maximum passenger number as with our “Scottish islands & off the beaten track tours for individuals” we guarantee the lowest per person price, no matter the actual number of participants = £37.50 per person per day during the peak summer season for our “Tours for individuals”

Tours for individuals reduced promotional tour prices

are valid for the advertised dates & tour locations only

(1) Our regular standard tour rates are based on

private & small groups travelling & booking together

(2) Our regular standard tour rates are

per 8 passenger seater mini-bus with driver/guide per day

At Unicorn Tours our rates are for private & small group tours per day per 8 passenger seater mini-bus with driver/guide per day:

Short day tour prices

1 day tour prices

2 day tour prices

3 day tour prices

4 day tour prices

5 day tour prices

6 day tour prices

7 day tour prices

(3) The “Tours for individuals” reduced tour price per person

is to encourage individuals, pairs of 2, 3 or 4 friends travelling together,

who are not part of a private or small group of up to 8

the chance to travel with Unicorn Tours

for the same price per person as if the tour was fully booked with 8 passengers

of a private & small group.

(4) The “Tours for individuals” reduced rates are a promotion

the per person tour price is guaranteed at 1/8 of

our regular per 8 passenger seater mini-bus with driver/guide

per day

regular standard tour rate

  • This special “tours for individuals” tour price per person is based on the assumption of a fully booked tour with 8 passengers, but we guarantee the price per person, based on a fully booked tour bus group of 8, even if there are less than 8 passengers booked for the tour, for example just the stated minimum number of passengers joining us on the tour.

(5) The “Tours for individuals” reduced rates are valid

on the stated dates & for the stated destinations only

and cannot be claimed on any other travel dates or to any other tour destinations

(6) The “Tours for individuals” reduced rates are a promotion

to encourage travel to “off-the-beaten-track Scotland”

The “tours for individuals” reduced rates are a promotion to encourage travel away from the tourist crowds,

traffic jams & many large crowed tour coach group destinations

to “off-the-beaten-track Scotland” to explore more of:

10,000 miles of Scottish coastline

travel to & discover the stark beauty of over 70 of the 790 Scottish islands, which are accessible by ferry

& more than 30,000 Scottish lochs

-Loch Ness is great, but so are many of the other 29,999 Scottish lochs; the Isle of Skye is fantastic, but please don’t underrate nor devalue any of the other 70+  unique, special, stunningly beautiful, dramatic, spectacular, truly amazing Scottish islands which can be reached by ferry and which Unicorn Tours does include in our itineraries.

Once you have seen Loch Ness & Skye please don’t “tick off Scotland”  – as you have seen less than 5% of Scotland.

At Unicorn Tours we offer you an affordable way to explore, discover & experience the other 95%+ of Scotland as well

(7) Difference between “Tours for individuals” and “private & small group tours” pricing

The key difference

between

a TOURS FOR INDIVIDUALS guaranteed PER PERSON price

and

all other PRIVATE & SMALL GROUP TOURS run by Unicorn Tours, where

the price is fixed PER 8 passenger seater VEHICLE inclusive of driver/guide per day

irrespective of the actual passenger numbers

so on a  private & small group tour, passengers on the tour do share the

peak May – September £360  (standard March, April & October £300 / low-season November to February £240)

per vehicle per day tour cost,

so the normal price for a private & small group day tour depending on the season is £360/£300/£240

no matter if there is 8 or just 1 passengers on the tour

due to our tour vehicle running costs being fixed & the same, no matter how many passengers are on board
